Count me in for INSEAD Sept. 2010.

Submitted my application yesterday and mailed my transcripts today. Waiting for recommenders to submit the recommendation.

Male, 29, PhD in electronics from France, Pakistani/Canadian, 710 GMAT, 6 years work experience, multi-lingual

Applying to HBS as a back up school ? (INSEAD is actually a perfect fit for me. Not sure if I am a fit for INSEAD, though.)

I'm planning to apply for R2 and will be visiting Fonty on Sep 25 for the on-campus event. Anyone else planning to attend?

Has anyone here been for a campus visit and could you fill me in on what to expect - activities, attire, etc?

I've been to the in house invent in June!

Great, inspiring event, no specific dressing or other requirements!

Just be there. Have all the questions ready, as there will be a lot of students, whom you will be able to ask all the things you want to know!

If you have any specific questions ask!

Where are you planning to stay? If in a hotel then there is a Napoleon hotel with great price/4star hotel. Really enjoyed it!

Hey artuurss, thanks for the info.

Hopefully there will be some students from the January intake to talk with as I would imagine lots of new students being there right around now. I'll be sure to think about questions to ask, I've had to leave my app on the back burner recently and it's time to start thinking about things again.

What was the structure of the event like? It looks to be scheduled for 5 hours which seems quite long - what does it consist of? Did people stick around after the official ending time? (Travel plans and all.)

The event starts with the opening word of the Dean. With fact figures, stats, interenstion info about the program. Then he leads the presentation. Then there is a 2 h masterclass, try-a-mba-class-time:) then there is a break and during the second part adm.com answers questions...

Actually I'll attach the info from the event!!! After the even there is a coctail patry, wher you can meet a lot of people, students and future students. I even exchanged contacts with some of them, and still email.

Event is really great!!! Where are you coming from for the event?

I'm visiting in October. I'm definitely looking forward to touring the school, meeting some students and attending a class.

Thinking of retaking the GMAT to compensate. Rest of the profile is: Male, Romanian, 26 IT local university, 1.5 years work experience in IT 2 years work experience in boutique consulting. International exposure - lived and worked for my current employer in Israel for more than 6 months in total Did 2 projects in Kazakhstan (stayed there for about a month in total) Other: Did some work in infrastructure / project finance for public authorities in Kazakhstan and Liberia Advisory on large energy private public partnership deals in Israel (both for current employer) Opinions on whether or not to retake the GMAT ? It would mean postponing to January 2011 since I don't want to go to R3 or R4 Manager Joined: 28 Jun 2009 Posts: 52 Location: Moscow Russia Schools: -=! What puts me off is the fact that it's a bellow avg. score among my colleagues at work (I don't know why but the other 2 people I know attending INSEAD as we speak got 760s) and also the fact that I had a bad day on test day so it might not be that hard to get something better. That being said I am in no mood to take it again just on account of ego so I am trying to decide exactly how much I have to work on compensating my horrible and embarrassing GPA Intern Joined: 21 Aug 2009 Posts: 6 Schools: Insead Followers: 0 Kudos [?]: 0 [0], given: 0 Re: INSEAD Sep 2010 Intake [#permalink] Show Tags 16 Sep 2009, 13:43 I felt the same as you did (especially on the Quant. section). I was very close to doing it again, but at the end of the day I decided that it is good enough score. Without giving any specific advice, you can see higher GMAT's dinged and lower ones accepted. At the end of day, as i understood from admissions, the emphasis on the GMAT is lesser than on other traits... good luck with what you choose Intern Joined: 25 Jun 2009 Posts: 37 Schools: INSEAD R1 D'11 Followers: 1 Kudos [?]: 12 [0], given: 2 Re: INSEAD Sep 2010 Intake [#permalink] Show Tags 17 Sep 2009, 07:40 artuurss wrote: The event starts with the opening word of the Dean. Submitted for R1.

After a final glitch making a payment, I accidentally pressed the enter button before entering the card no! and it didnt allow me again to pay.. !! Kept saying your payment cannot be processed.. Could finally manage to pay using a different card link..

Now the wait begins, but off to LBS essays, which I havent even started!!!
