I have just started. Work is hectic here as well !!

The option between culture shock essay and the one where you can write to a foreigner moving to your country - i am still not sure which one to choose. this to me is the most challenging one..

Hello,
new here.

Applying for Sep 2010 R1 Singapore.
5 years work exp.
recently been working in oil business.
Wrote on cultural shock... Somewhere I read that it is a better topic than the visiter to your country because it allows you to better introduce yourself.
good luck to all.

Does anyone knows if they process applications before the deadline?

Hi juniordad - welcome. I plan to write on cultural shock myself though I have heard that one should pick an essay which is easier and can illustrate different facet of one's life best :)

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if they process applications before the deadline. I believe that many people are on summer holiday in August (being a 'French' school) so unlikely they will process much sooner before deadline - plus they would have to process Jan 2010 intake first. But that's just my opinion.
Good luck!

I am in for R2 :)

I am trying to make my all apps in R2, but Insead seems to have R2 1 month earlier (Dec vs. Jan). Not sure whether it would give a chance to pick a school if I have more than 1 offer 8-)

Re processing before deadline: I don't think schools generally do that; schools want to know their applicants' universe at least for that particular round before making any decision.

Count me in for R2. I need to retake the GMAT since I didn't quite get the score I need to be competitive. Good luck to all you R1ers!

Hello all,

what campus are you choosing in the application. I am a bit confused whether to start with Singapore or Fountainbleau, though I am pretty sure I would like to experience both. The wharton option increases the dielemma.

What was your choice and what was the reason.

Cheers

I went for Singapore.
Figured that with a 2yr old boy it has better options for my family.
Also would allow the wife to find a job.
weekends in samui sounds more attractive then freezing in fonti.

Re: INSEAD Sep 2010 Intake [#permalink]
I am leaning on picking Fountainbleau as I have never lived in Europe.

I had a question about transcripts. Do you know if they have to be in a sealed envelope only ? I can request my university to send it directly to INSEAD, but I would prefer to send it along with any other applcn material. If I ask my university to send the transcripts to me, obviously it wont be in a sealed envelope. Is that ok ?

Also, do you guys know if we get any confirmation that our transcripts have reached ?!!? Have you already submitted them, if you are applying to R1.

I handed them personally while I vusuted the campus.
From what I understand, you should get an email from a coordinator saying that the entire material was received by the ad. com.

Thank you everyone for your replies.

I hope I am not asking too many questions :P

Do you know if we could cross the word limit. if yes, by how much. The application form doesn't mention that.

Count me in for INSEAD Sept. 2010.

Submitted my application yesterday and mailed my transcripts today. Waiting for recommenders to submit the recommendation.

Male, 29, PhD in electronics from France, Pakistani/Canadian, 710 GMAT, 6 years work experience, multi-lingual

Applying to HBS as a back up school ? (INSEAD is actually a perfect fit for me. Not sure if I am a fit for INSEAD, though.)

I'm planning to apply for R2 and will be visiting Fonty on Sep 25 for the on-campus event. Anyone else planning to attend?

Has anyone here been for a campus visit and could you fill me in on what to expect - activities, attire, etc?

I've been to the in house invent in June!

Great, inspiring event, no specific dressing or other requirements!

Just be there. Have all the questions ready, as there will be a lot of students, whom you will be able to ask all the things you want to know!

If you have any specific questions ask!

Where are you planning to stay? If in a hotel then there is a Napoleon hotel with great price/4star hotel. Really enjoyed it!

Hey artuurss, thanks for the info.

Hopefully there will be some students from the January intake to talk with as I would imagine lots of new students being there right around now. I'll be sure to think about questions to ask, I've had to leave my app on the back burner recently and it's time to start thinking about things again.

What was the structure of the event like? It looks to be scheduled for 5 hours which seems quite long - what does it consist of? Did people stick around after the official ending time? (Travel plans and all.)

The event starts with the opening word of the Dean. With fact figures, stats, interenstion info about the program. Then he leads the presentation. Then there is a 2 h masterclass, try-a-mba-class-time:) then there is a break and during the second part adm.com answers questions...

Actually I'll attach the info from the event!!! After the even there is a coctail patry, wher you can meet a lot of people, students and future students. I even exchanged contacts with some of them, and still email.

Event is really great!!! Where are you coming from for the event?
