Hi
bb / Friends,
Adding my list of movies which helped me keep going:
1. Peaceful Warrior:
A chance encounter with a stranger changes the life of a college gymnast
2. The Pursuit of Happyness:
A struggling salesman takes custody of his son as he's poised to begin a life-changing professional
endeavor. Christopher's ability to focus, despite the constant set backs, helps him reach his life goals.
3. October Sky:
The true story of Homer Hickam, a coal miner's son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch

4. Soul Surfer:
The true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously
overcame all odds to become a champion again, through her sheer determination and unwavering faith.
If a champion surfer with one arm doesn't make you want to step up your healthy living, we don't know
what will!
5. Coach carter:
Inspired by the true story of controversial Richmond, California basketball coach Ken Carter, who
received both high praise and staunch criticism when he made national news for benching his entire
team undefeated team for poor academic performance. Tension mounted as the Richmond High Oilers
faced the upcoming basketball championship. The town was wild with excitement over their undefeated
team and the bleachers were filled with cheering fans for every game. No one could imagine that on
January 4, 1999 the community would erupt in dissention and so many lives would change forever when
coach Carter padlocked the gym, refusing the players access for failing to keep up their grade.
Teamwork and good leadership goes a long way for this team.
6. A beautiful mind:
The biography of John Forbes Nash Jr., an award winning mathematician, and his struggle with
schizophrenia.
We can learn about perseverance from this genius mathematician
7. Caste away:
An ambitious corporate troubleshooter is stranded on a deserted island for five years, eventually
returning to society as a changed man.
The power of love is one of the most inspiring things about this film.
8. The Shawshank Redemption:
A man discovers himself after he is sentenced to life in prison. A common choice for ‘favorite film of all
times’, this movie holds still #1 spot on IMDB and was nominated for seven Oscars and hold a place in
hearts of millions 20 years after its release
The prisoner reminds us of the inability to lock up one's mind and spirit.
9. 42:
The story of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play in American Major League Baseball,
focusing on the two years of his life after he entered the game in 1947.
Jackie Robinson teaches us how to fight prejudice in this true story.

Rocky Balboa, a small-time boxer, gets a supremely rare chance to fight the heavy-weight
champion, Apollo Creed, in a bout in which he strives to go the distance for his self-respect

Kung Fu Panda has a familiar message, but the pleasing mix of humor, swift martial arts action, and
colorful animation makes for winning entertainment.

A true story of a black team debating HBS
14. Whiplash
15. Lean on me
