International experience and more at a global B-School [#permalink]
16 Jul 2011, 02:40
No doubt a higher education degree from a Global Business school makes a lot of difference in our lives but there are also some aspects which make the experience worthwhile. What do you think are those distinguishing aspects in a global b-school? Also please share some of your experiences.

While I've not started b-school yet I can tell you what I'm hoping for in addition to the regular benefits. - I'm hoping a top international program will be attended by interesting people from all over the globe, with whom I can interact and hopefully become friends. - It will have a wealth of clubs and activities for me to join in with, perhaps that I've not had chance to experience before or that I won't be able to continue with once I graduate. - Finally, and one reason I chose Tuck, I hope to interact with superb professors and perhaps join in with research projects. Also please share some of your experiences. 1) % of international students 2) Global campuses 3) Multi-national firms recruiting for international offices 4) % of student who took jobs abroad 5) International prestige Fuqua, with ~40% international students, global campuses (even a Cross Continental MBA program) can be considered a global business school. Fuqua is making a bet on the globalization of business by doing all this. I think we will see some positive results 10-20 years down the line.

Yes your right. What inspires me the most is the multi cultural aspect. Its a place where we get a chance to meet people with different cultural backgrounds, different thinkings, different attitudes which help us change our perspective to any situation. It also helps one be a better team player, as one gets comfortable in due course of time.
More so, as a graduate leaving the program with a network of fellow business entrepreneurs from many different countries gives you a very distinctive head start. Imagine the doors that would be opened to you by knowing top business managers from around the world because of the relationships you built with them in class.
