1. Two clauses are not connected by a co-ordinating conjunction.
2. 1992 Olympic Games -- Is it singular or Plural. I'm not sure on
this issue. I would consider it as one event and the use of "was"
If you take "games" seperately, then it is plural.
If you consider "1992 Olympic Games", then it is Singular.
Another reason for this Being Singlular is that "G" in Games
is Capitalised. So, it is definitely singular.

Not sure what capitalization does to grammar. In my view regardless of capitals or italics, the term "1992 olympic games" (even with a G) will be plural. But I would like to know this Capital-singular rule, if from an authentic grammar source. Something to learn everyday on this forum
