Internationals denied Campus Recruitment Opportunity [#permalink] New post 10 Sep 2005, 17:25

I Came across this issue that happened in a top 30 school where International students are denied the opportunity to attend campus recruitment..

If the recruiting companies doesnt wanna recruit Internationals let them decide rather than schools deciding who should attend /not..

The school i was referring to is WP Carey and i spoke to an Alumni of the school...( Not to start a flame war but wanna inform potential students )

So All Internationals out there before Selecting any school..speak to a current student/Alumni and get this clarified..

If you are aware of any schools that have this kind of policy , let us know

Cheers

In contrast, UCLA provides the following in its Recruiting Policies:

"All employers will seek the best candidates for employment regardless of citizenship unless contractual or legal obligations require specific citizenship for the firm's employees."

I dont think so..the Career services make no mention of this fact in their website..

I checked with few international students ...and they confirmed this by email..

Due to privacy issues i can't post their email here...

I understand the privacy concerns. However, this is such an important issue for prospective students that I would like to find out more- does anyone want to volunteer to contact Carey to see how the school responds?

As always there is no danger of starting a flame war with me. I enjoy hearing the opinions of others and would love to know if the school admits or denies excluding international students from its recruiting events.
