Internship company sponsoring 2nd year in full-time program [#permalink] New post 09 May 2013, 11:41
I've heard that some firms (generally MBB and a few other large consulting firms) will sometimes pay for your second year of your MBA program if you do an internship and get a full-time offer. As a recession-era grad, I was more than a little skeptical... anyone know if that actually still happen these days? And if so, do other firms offer any sort of similar second year sponsorship?

I've heard Deloitte does this and MBB does not. The reason? Deloitte wants to hold on to its interns and not be used as a springboard for MBB.

The two firms that I know of that do or have done this are Deloitte and Accenture. I've talked to current B-school students going to Deloitte this summer and they confirmed that Deloitte is still doing it. I'm not sure if Accenture still does it.

As kingfalcon said, the top firms don't do it, they have no need really.

Thanks, guys! That definitely makes sense. Deloitte was actually one of the firms I was most interested in when I heard about their recruiting at Yale, so this is good news.
