The interview is conducted by a current second year student, an alumn or by a memebr of the adcom. I had mine at the GSB downtown, with a current student.

Blind interview.

Make sure to bring a copy of your resume: it doesn't have to be in the same format as the expanded one that you submitted in the application (I checked with the adcom before my interview). You can use a more traditional format (as I did). One page strict. Use nice paper :-D

Professional interview attire (i.e. suit and tie for guys)

The duration of the interview is approimately 45 minutes. First the resume is provided to the interviewer, who looks over it for a few minutes, then you go in the interview room.

Questions that I was asked were pretty much standard:
* Guide me through your resume/explain to me your career path
* Why an MBA?
* Why the GSB?
* Small talk about my hobbies.
* Five minutes for me to ask one or two questions.

Make sure to have clar answers ready for the standard questions.
Overall the interview was extremely pleasant and conversational. (I was really impressed by the responsiveness and professionalism of everyone at the GSB during the whole app process).

I believe that the GSB reserves the right to answer within 4 or 6 weeks of the date that the application material is submitted (incl. the interview), although usually they take less time than that.

Good luck!

I am scheduled to interview at the Gleacher Center on April 9th at 5:00 PM. I found the interview guide written by Rhyme very helpful.
103-p391528#p391528

Its mentioned as one of the best posts. I am preparing my interview based on the format presented in that guide.

The interview is nothing out of the ordinary

standard questions-
Why MBA?
Why Chicago?
What do you want to do with a MBA?
Describe your job progression?

my was more like a conversation, not really a interview

http://www.accepted.com has a great database of interview recaps, I used that.

I second that - the interview was very relaxed and the interviewer was very friendly and helpful. Just make sure that you get there well ahead of time because if you are driving then downtown Chicago traffic can be bad. Also if you are driving, make sure that you park at the AMC parking lot on 300 East Illinois and get your parking ticket validated at the Gleacher Center - you will save a lot of money.

I had my interview with a recent alum at the Gleacher center yesterday.
It was more of a conversation than a interview per-se.

The interviewer started with his background and asked the following questions:
1. Walk me through resume.
2. Why MBA?

Then he opened the floor for questions and we started discussing a few things, wherein he then asked me:
3. Why Chicago?
4. What courses and groups specifically will help me achieve my goals.

We then again talked for a few more minutes. It lasted about 30-35 minutes and I came out feeling good.

I then went and grabbed a beer with Rhyme. :)

Great advice posted on this board!

Of those who have already interviewed, have you heard back from the school? How long does it take to get a reply once you complete your interview (assuming your application is complete)? Thanks! :)
