Hi Bhushan,
Congratulations on your two acceptances!!
Deciding which program to attend is very much a personal decision but I'm happy to share with you some factors I'd be thinking about if I were in your shoes:
-Employment stats: I don't have these numbers so check with each program's Career Services office to get their stats, both general employment rates for graduates and by industry/functional specialization. You don't mention anything about what your career goals are so it's hard to say which would be better for that.
-Location: I'm not sure where you live now but Dallas and Ames are very different
Have you visited both? Will you have family moving with you? Dallas is much bigger so would have more job opportunities, cultural opportunities, better access to travel, etc whereas Ames is a small town though may have more of tight-knit, campus feel.
-Program curriculum / specialization: Is one program more flexible than the other in terms of courses you can take? Are the courses taught differently (e.g., lecture, case, project)? Are there specific courses that are in your planned area of specialization?
-Tuition / expenses: Check with the Financial Aid office to get their estimate of tuition and living expenses, I suspect Iowa would be cheaper as far as living expenses. I'm also not sure if you have scholarships at either school, so that's a factor too.
Hope this is helpful and good luck with the decision!!
Kate
