Is any one else having problems with PMs? [#permalink]
13 Aug 2007, 20:41
There seems to be something wrong with my PM system. Most of the messages I send end up sitting in the outbox for days. When it was working fine before, the message would go the outbox first and then almost immediately get sent and go sit in the sent-box folder. Anyone else with the same problem or wait, more likely: Am I not doing something I should be doing?

Some PM systems treat out/sent boxes in a different manner. They keep a message in outboxes of the sender as long as the message is not read by the intended recipient. Once the message is read by the recipient, it gets moved to the sentbox for the sender.
Maybe this is how the GMATClub PM system acts. DISCLAIMER: I am just guessing here. I haven't spent any time looking into how the PM system works here.

Okay, I checked phpBB, and it appears that what I said is how the PM system works in phpBB. To quote:
Quote: When you send a PM, the message goes to your Outbox. It remains in the Outbox until the recipient visits his/her Inbox, at which point it is moved from your Outbox to their Inbox. While the message remains in your Outbox you may edit or delete your post if you like. The message remains in your control until it is received.
