i'm just curious what can an MBA from a school without a ranking do to your career?

I think it really depends what your post-MBA career goals are. What do you want to do with your MBA, both in terms of industry/function and caliber of company that you want to work with?

That about sums it up. I work for a multi-national pharma company and there are a lot of people with no-name MBAs who are doing very well. Of course in certain business functions (marketing) there are more big-name MBAs.

Like everyone else has said so far, it really depends upon your industry and function. At my current company (smaller, private) I could move all the way up to a marketing exectuive with a no-name MBA. However if I want this same career path at a top-tier company then I'll need a highly recognized/ranked MBA.

I'll also add: It seems to me that most of the people that I know that have no-name MBAs and good job got the no-name MBA as an "add-on". They already had the skills to perform and the MBA was something extra.

For people who are looking to switch jobs, a no-name MBA would get me no-where because I have no work-experience to compensate.
