Is |n| < 1 ?
(1) n^x - n < 0
(2) x^(-1) = -2

stmnt 1:
for values n=2 and n=1/2 we get yes and no

stmnt 2:
x^(-1) = -2
x=-1/2

since n relation not given so insufficient..

Combining 1 & 2
we can say 1/(n)^1/2<n
or 1<n* n^(1/2)-- (a)

for all values of (a) n has to be a an integer value and >1 hence the question stem "|n| < 1"would always stand to be NO , option C is sufficient..
