Is Round 3 worth it for me? [#permalink] New post 08 Jan 2006, 11:52
750 GMAT Q49 V42
5.5 AWA

3.4 GPA from top20 school (business major)

2.5 yrs workex at an IT Consulting firm
1 year at a Management Consulting firm

Solid extracurriculars - president of an organization for Indian Professionals, started a community service organization in ugrad

I REALLLY want to go to business school this year.

I've already applied to Kellogg (one-year progr) for round 2.

Based on my stats, I think I can aim for a top-tier business school...
Do you think it would be worth my time/money to apply for H/S/W this year? What programs have the best chance for round 3 admission?

I'd say the chances are slim, not because of your profile, but because the overall odds are against anyone applying in R3.

You can take a shot, but consider this... If you apply in R3 and DON'T get in, and you want to apply again next year, you'll need to show something new in your application from last year to this year (e.g., a promotion or a significant achievement outside of work). If you get dinged now and apply agains with the same app next year (in Round 1 or 2), it will be hard to get in next year.
