(1)

N - 7 is an integer

(2)

N
1
3 is an integer

Statement 1) N-7 is an integer. Since 7 is also an integer hence N must also be an integer. Sufficient
Statement 2) It can be written as 3N is an integer. N can be a a fraction such as 1/3, then also 3N will be an inetger or N can be an integer even then 3N will be an integer. Two cases, hence insufficient.

Is the number n an integer?

(1) N - 7 is an integer --> $$n-7=integer$$ --> $$n=integer+7=integer$$. Sufficient.

(2) N/1/3 is an integer. $$3n=integer$$. If n=1, then the answer is YES but if n=1/3, then the answer is NO. Not sufficient.

The first statement states clearly that it is the sufficient fo the statement to be true. 2nd statement is not enough.
