Is the point (x,y) in the fourth quadrant?

Is the point (x,y) in the fourth quadrant)?

In the fourth quadrant x is positive and y is -ve.

1) xy >0

x and y have same sign so not in Quadrant 4. Sufficient.

2) y > 0
y is in either first or second quadrant, but not in fourth quadrant.

Sufficient.
