Is the prime number p equal to 3 ?

(1) p = n + 1, where n is a prime number. This statement implies that n and p are consecutive numbers and both are primes (also one is even and another odd). The only such pair is 2 and 3. Sufficient.

(2) p is divisible by 3. This statement directly says that p is 3 (which other prime can be divisible by 3?). Sufficient.

Answer: D,
