Is the real test much harder than the practice exams? [#permalink]

I scored all over 500 (and averaged around 600 at one point) on basically every exam; however, my actual test score was 480. I am taking the exam soon, but was wondering if maybe it was just nerves, or maybe the exam is just harder.
The GMATPrep tests are very good indicators. The others are useful for practice but not really very accurate with the scores. I know I did 50 points higher than the Kaplan tests and 30 higher than the Princeton review.
