So I made a grave mistake in applying to one of my schools last year. I used another school's name in the essay.

As a reapplicant, will they look at that and be like, oh man.. this guy again, reject! Or do you think they'll forgive and forget last year's application? This is relevant to Haas..

Tough call, I don't think anyone will be able to give you a definitive answer. If i had to guess i'd say they wont care or even remember. But, you never know maybe they have a note next to your name for it. For many schools re-applicants don't have to fulfill all the requirements all over again, they definitely keep something.

Either way I dont think it will mean an auto ding

You're also making the assumption that's why they rejected you.

Just give it your best and pray for the best. There's really nothing else you can do.
