Is there any penalty for taking more that 8 min break ? [#permalink] New post 08 May 2014, 09:00
Hi all,
I recently took gmat.
Here was my score recrods:
- 2 weeks Before test: MGMAT: 640
- 1 week before GMAT official test 1: 620
- Last day before GMAT official test 2 : 680

So I was on track as per my expectation of 640- 650 score
However on the day of exam my score came: 580 (Quant 48, verbal 22)

I had taken more than 8 min break between quant and verbal. However, I had managed to complete the test in remaining time.
Is there any penalty for taking more than given time in break? I can't find any other reason for such low score in GMAT.

Please let me know if you have heard about any such case.

Hi Achaldoshi,

I hope you are well - sorry to hear that you didn't reach your potential on this latest GMAT. No, there's no penalty for taking extra time on the break except potentially losing time on the section following the break. Let me know if you have any questions!

Happy Studies,

A.
