Is there any top league 1 year MBA [not executive MBA]? [#permalink] New post 06 Sep 2004, 20:38
Hi -

Is there any top league 1 year MBA [not executive MBA] course in US? I have done my MBA from a top b-school in India. Again, I have 6 years of post MBA experience in software project management and business analyst kind of positions.

I want to give a boost to my career by doing an MBA from a US school. My primary area of interest are management consulting and investment management where I can use my industry knowledge.

I feel that if I do a 2 year MBA again, it may be a waste of time. That's why I am looking for a good 1 year course.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

Northwestern, Columbia, Cornell, and Emory (among others) have one year programs. However, I cannot recall if any of these schools grant second MBA degrees. Regardless, one must present a compelling reason for a second MBA even for those schools that grant them. Another possibility is an MSBA program in the US.

In addition to the schools that Hjort cited, the University of Georgia also offers a 1-year degree, although I doubt that it has the kind of panache to help you in MC and IB.
