1. we have x^2+y^2> [(x+y)^2]/2 >6/2=3 , can't conclude if x^2+y^2>6 ---> insuff

2. we have x^2+y^2>2xy=4 , can't conclude if x^2+y^2> 6 ---> insuff

1 and 2
(x+y)^2= x^2+ y^2 + 2xy>6, xy= 2 ---> x^2+y^2>6-4=2 ---> cant conclude if x^2+y^2> 6 ---> insuff.
