A) is sufficient
x^2 is always +ve and since it is less than x X has to be +ve and always lies between 0 and 1

B) Just tells us that x is +ve(Insufficient)

A
x^2-x<0; x(1-x)>0
hence, either x>0 AND x<1; or x<0 AND x>1
The latter makes no sense so x>0 AND x<1 has to be true!

Answer (C)

(1) x^2 < x

let x= 1/2 , (1/2)^2 < 1/2
let x = - 1/2 , ( -1/2) ^2 = 1/4. Thus 1/4> - 1/2, which means in order for x^2 < x, x has to be +ve. (1) is sufficient.

(2) simply says x is +ve. X can be 2, 3, 4, or 1/2 or 1/3 0r 1/5 . Squaring any of these numbers can be both greater or less than than original x.

Thus, (1) is sufficient
