Iam struggling with such kind of problems.I would appreciate if you help me understand teh basics here.

Assuming that n in first statement is x, is the ans C ?

even if it was x^3 in stat 1, answer is either B or D

from stat 2, x must be between 0 and 1, i.e. it cannot be negative.

I think answer is E

1) n^3 [1-x^2]<0 ;

In this either n <0 or (1-x^2)< 0 ; no information

2) x^2-1 <0

x=-0.5 or x=0.5 both satisfies the condition ;insuff

Together insufficient ; having information about x^2 does not really tell us anything about x

fast approach: both conditions include only x^2, so they are insensitive to +/-. Zero is not the case here, so E
