First simplify:

\(x+1>x+2y-1\) ?

\(x>x+2y-2\) ?

\(0>2y-2\) ?

\(0>2(y-1)\) ?

\(0>y-1\) ?

Finally, is \(y < 1\) ?

(1) Insufficient, nothing given about y.
(2) Sufficient, \(y<0\) so it must be less than 1.

x - y + 1 > x + y - 1

simplified version - y < 1 ?

A - not sufficient
B - y < 0 hence it has to be less than 1.
B sufficient.

Hence correct answer is B.

Thanks,
