Stmt 1 -
Only tell X,Y are integers. Clearly insuff.

Stmt 2 -
XY = 9
There can be many values of X,Y which can satisfy this like
X = 2/3 Y = 27/2 etc.

Combine -
Since X and Y are integers so only possible vaues of X and Y are
X = 1,-1 and Y = 9,-9
X = 3,-3 and Y = 3,-3
In either case x + y is even so (x+y)^3 is also even.

I was trapped by the Shell Game :) I got B coz i assumed X and Y to be integers.
