Looks easy, not exactly sure why I got it wrong.

Is X + Y negative?

(1) X is negative
(2) Y is positive

x=-2, y=4 x+y=2
x=-2, y=0.5 x+y=-1.5

Yeah you have no idea what any of those numbers are just by knowing the sign. If this was "Is X * Y Negative?" then you could do something.
