Is xy greater than 1, if x and y are both positive.

Given that x>0 and y>0. The question asks whether xy>1.

(1) x is less than 1. If x=1/4 and y=100, then the answer is YES but if x=1/4 and y=2, then the answer is NO. Not sufficient.

(2) y is greater than 1. The same here: if x=1/4 and y=100, then the answer is YES but if x=1/4 and y=2, then the answer is NO. Not sufficient.

(1)+(2) Consider the same example. Not sufficient.

Its E..

X and y can be any number.

y can be 1.00003 ..or it can be 1000..

x is les than 1 ..so if its multiplied by 1.00003 (which is greater than 1) it wil be less than 1..but if y is 1000 it wil greater than 1..

not sufficient.
