can anyone explain what is the problem with A?

We must compare the "action" of preventing in both scenarios. We cannot compare prevention with crimes.

A is wrong because of that fact. Also, it is wordy; B is better in that aspect.

E is correct.

In short SCs, try to figure the correct answers before looking at the options. That will help!

Metallicafan has this spot on .

You cannot compare the "Action of preventing crime" with "crime".

So the answer has to be E.

IMO-C
If we follow the rule "It is as x as it is y" then C is concise & correct.
E is wordy in comparison to C.

Am i missing something?Please suggest.

It is as difficult to do THIS, as it is to do THAT
