Re: It is the relationship of hemigway with his mother, Grace, [#permalink]
^ C ^

The sentence starts with "It is the relationship.." so we need to modify the relationship. Thus, we need "which".

13. It is the relationship of hemigway with his mother, Grace, which is probably the most enigmatic of all his relationships with women.

Will go with C here. Here which refers to Himmgways relationship with her mother, not her mother.

'who' is the wrong pronoun for relationship --> B and D are out
E --> went back to talking about Grace
A --> makes the same mistake by referencing to women

C is the best choice. Correct comparison.

A)which is probably the most enigmatic of all the women in his life.
B)who is probably the most enigmatic of all the women in his life.
C)which is probably the most enigmatic of all his relationships with women.
D)who, of all the relationships he had with women, is probably the most enigmatic.
E)which. of all the women in his life, is probably the most enigmatic relationship he had.

"C".

Can anyone let me know why "E" is wrong? I voted out "E" as "of all the women in his life" modified "which" and "which" is a relationship in this case. Is my reasoning correct and can anyone confirm the same?

Agree with C, which refers to the relationship not the woman
