I will take "D".....I think the choice is among A,B and D, all others have "will" which is not reqd as we are already talking abt fifteen yrs from now. B is out becose of "being"..."venture again" is better than "again venture"...so "D"

(B) and (C) are out because the modifier 'a planet now known...' should modify Mars and not again.
(E) is out. 'will again venture' suggests that a next trip to Mars is definite. However, the sentence uses 'may' which suggets the next trip may or may not take place
Between A and D, A is better. Mars is known all along to be cold, dry and lifeless. (D) however changes the logic of the sentence by stating that it is only now (presently) that we know this fact.
A it is.
