Do people see Ivey (Richard Ivey School of Business at Western Ontario) among Elite list of B-schools? What do you think?

Hard to say. Ivey is a reputable one year program that relies very heavily on the case study method. It's definately an international elite school. I'm curious as to what Hjort has and others have to say about UWO.

I'm from Canada myself and IMO, I think the best Canadian b-schools would be in the trans-elite category, 1 notch below the elite schools. This is partly because job opportunities in the big banks and big MC firms are less than in those elite schools. However, it does not matter really should you want to work in Canada as IVEY and Rotman are top there.

Best Regards,

I agree with Paul- Western is pretty much along the lines of the US transelite but is a very strong choice for someone who wishes to work in Canada. It is also merits closer examination for someone with a strong interest in the case method.

Ivey has lost its shine ever since it switched to a 1-yr program, not to mention it relies very heavily on its case-study method and that's about all it has to offer. Also, it's located in London which is 2-3 hours away from Toronto where all the financial firms are.
Looking at global rankings and general reputation here in Canada, it is Rotman at University of Toronto that's #1.
