Hello,
Has anyone read Jeff Sackmann's GMAT 111 - any reviews - BB? He says that it is 111 short chapters, could it just be a repeat of his website? Better/same or not as good as MGMAT Roadmap? Thanks

Very interesting question, Policarpa! I am curious about this booklet as well, but unfortunately there's not much discussion on it. As a consumer of Sackmann's products, I expect that it offers value for absolute beginners. But you might be able to find most of the information on his website as well as the GMATClub forums. The book is pretty cheap, though, so there's not much to lose.

So I decided to read his book and here is my review:

Easy to read down to earth advice in one place! If you like his website you will like the book. It is not overcomplicated, and it is not a repeat of the website. I read through a lot of the website and did not find that it overlapped terribly with the book, a refreshing surprise. But if you have spent some time reading the forum you will find a great deal of overlap and common sense- time yourself, take breaks, redo questions, understand your mistakes, etc.

Overall worth the read- maybe- you could spend the time that it takes to read the book doing quant, but it is great for beginners and even though the author states that he scored in the 99th percentile he doesn't underemphasize the importance of good QUALITY study time, nor does he talk down to you.

True to something he says on it website - you could possibly get all of your study tips and resources online for free, but look at the time it would take to to find, compile, and organize those resources, is that time worth $50,$200, if so just buy the books which already take care of those steps for you, read them and be prepared .

Best advice if you read the book - read the book, read the "plan of attack," study, read again in a month to see if you are still on track and some of the things that did not make sense early in your preparation will make more sense now and you will now be able to apply these tips better.

More tips - If you want a quick read go with the book, if you have more time and want extended explanations and/or can't justify paying for the book- go the website route. The website has basically all you need with more thorough explanations, understandable that there were space constraints with the book.

Cons: lots of plugs for his other books which he states are a great prep source,
