(2) She bought an equal number of \$0.15 stamps and \$0.29 stamps.

stmt 1 :

.15X + .29Y = 4.4

or 15X + 29Y = 440 ------------1

By trial error the values that satisfy is when x =10 and Y = 10. So sufficient.

stmt 2 :

Not sufficient.

A it is.

One easy way to solve this is if you notice 15+29 = 44.

15x + 29y = 440

Only values (integer values) 10 and 10 will satisfy that equation.
