Hi Towski,
Kudos on the new job offer! The most important thing is for you to move toward your career goals and continue to grow. If you think this job offer can provide better growth opportunities for you, and aligns better w your career goals, then go for it.
It doesn't look bad if you have good reasons for the career move, and I don't think you need to necessary wait another year to apply just because you switched to a new job.
We've worked with clients who switched jobs a lot, and we were able to help them demonstrate that they have a clear vision for their career, and the decisions to switch jobs support moving toward that vision.
It is sometimes easier to sit around within the same company for years, but it actually takes some effort to look for a new job and make a change.
Hope this help! Happy to discuss further if you have any question about the transition, and selecting recommenders, etc.

Hello,
I'm wondering what admissions committees thoughts are about short(ish) durations in positions or at companies. Here's my situation:
I have been with my current company (brand name) for 1.5 years; however, I have another job offer in a more desirable role at another company (arguably better brand name). It aligns much better with my future career goals and the "why an MBA" question.
I had planned on applying to schools (top 5) in round 1 of 2013 so that I would have 3 years of WE at matriculation. How would it look if I had 1.5 years WE at one company and only 3/4 year WE at another when applying to MBA programs? Should I rough it out at my current job for the next year and a half? Or will I have to wait another year to apply if I switch jobs? (I should note that that will put me on the older side - 28 at matriculation)
I'm willing to do whatever I need to in order to strengthen my application.
Thanks in advance!
