This one is cool dude....I felt drunk after reading this.

I am struggling between A and D.

All others change meaning and make it funny.

Go with A. It correctly conveys the meaning....He took suitcases downstairs while drunk.

D kinda says...John was drunk and took suitcases downstairs.

I think sentence as such is praising John for having good stamina :-D

Whats the OA? Really curious.
