Good morning all --- what a great start to the week. I just received my Johnson interview invitation!! Almost lost hope on it since my application went under review on 10/2X/2011. I guess whoever still hasn't received your interview please keep your head up. It will probably come very soon!!!
By the way, does anyone think flying to Ithaca actually makes a difference for Cornell? I know many consultants, etc said it doesn't make a difference. But I want other people's two-cents??
It might depend on where you are in the US. I visited in October before applying. On a certain level, it shows you're serious. At the same time, I think they understand people's work schedules might not allow for it depending on where you live.
In my conversations with Admissions Consultants, they identified Johnson as "one of three schools that can be seduced. Since they are remote along with Tuck and Darden, they will notice that you actually came to see them. A lot of people are allocating their efforts toward H/S/W. Those are actually the schools you don't need to visit because they assume your desire to attend is already very high. Their yields support that. Visiting a lower ranked school, even if it's Fuqua which is close to Raleigh-Durham, can do nothing, but help you."
