Judge a school by its blogger? [#permalink]

Maybe that's not the fairest assessment, but it's really worrying when I compare the blogs of students from 2 schools I'm looking at.
At one school, the guys write about a wide array of topics from the interesting quotes overheard in class, and the coolest profs they've come across to the various parties taking place on campus and give us great insight to what going to their school is really like.
Meanwhile, the bloggers from the other school seem to find nothing more interesting to mention than the network infrastructure at their school, or how much RAM they just loaded onto their laptop and where the cheapest beer is sold.

There's a blogger who also posts on the BW forum, who sometimes makes me question the quality of students at my top choice school. You should probably look beyond that stuff but I can understand how it colors your impression of a school.

Sometimes when you have a decision to make, the only thing that's left is the small stuff. And a million tiny interactions we've had -- ones we're probably not even conscious of anymore -- color any decision we ever make. So if you like both schools equally and feel that both will give you what you need, then go with the blog. I have an even lamer reason for deciding not to apply to Ross.
On the other hand, think twice if your thinking goes like this:
Hmmm, full scholarship from the University of Phoenix online vs a no-money admit from Harvard.....gosh, Harvard has that annoying blogger guy. Ugh, forget it. U of P, you've got my log in! Hells yeah!
