First off, our intent is to not to make the moderator thing elitist.
To answer your question, simply help others selflessly and Treat others with respect. Of course, you will frequently see me yelling at people for not behaving nicely, but that is one of the saddest parts of my job -- teaching grown ups to behave like um, grown ups.
You will agree with me that the moderators should be a reflection of the culture here at GMAT Club -- Smart but modest, Assertive but not arrogant.
Usually, I see a very useful post that a long time member made and this makes my eyes well up with tears. That does it most of the time.
Take a look at what the moderators have done for the Club. The Club is blessed that they found us.
