Just wanted to refresh ..have not touched rate, time, distance since forever

Walk rate = 4mph, Run rate = 6mph, whats the average speed of walking 5 mile and run 3 mile

(5+3)/(5/4+3/6)

yes it is correct....


the formula is:

total distance/total time=Rate

total distance is 5+3= 8 miles

and the total time is Distance/Rate for each activity:
5/4+3/6

remember D=R*T

so it is: 8/(5/4+3/6)
