You can't legally get it for free unless someone gives it to you as a gift ;) . You need to buy Kaplan 2005 that includes a practice CD.

May be Kaplan site has an on-line practice CAT test. But I am not sure.

Thanks for your reply sparky.

I got a kaplan book with a CD in it but the CD seems too unrealistic. A lot of graphical stuff/tutorial so i am thinking maybe i got the wrong CD with the book.

Did your CD have a lot of graphics/interactive tutorial?

Yes, mine had quite a cheesy feeling to it. But this graphical presentation has been associated with Kaplan CAT for quite a while, I believe. My colleague uses a Kaplan 2003 series and he had the same presentation.

Kaplan CD is the best, content vise.
In case you didn't notice it contains all questions from Kaplan Math and Verbal Workouts too ;)
It doesn't look professional at all. I wonder if it is too much to ask to hire one good programmer. Whoever designed Kaplan package thinks that GMAT takes are either 2nd graders or retarded.
But the content is very good.
One assessment test, all workouts CR, RC, SC, DS, PS, 4 full tests. Rock on!

Yes, the questions in the CAT are definitely quite challenging, so I would say the objective of the CD is achieved. Having a good presentation would be secondary on the minds of the Kaplan test writers.
