Hi,
I took the Kaplan test today and scored a lousy 600. I have been
studying for GMAT for about 2 months now and this score is :(
How does it compare to the actual GMAT test.

It is fairly consistent with the GMAT. Sometimes we have seen as much variation as 50 points but in general, it is well calibrated with the GMAT.
Sorry about your result. If you are in doubt you can always take a MGMAT test.

I scored a 580 yesterday on Kaplan free test. There are many threads on the forum which have people saying that kaplan scores are highly understated.
http://gmatclub.com/gmat-score-calculator/ estimated score to be around 640.

Which of the above is a reliable indicator?
