Hey,
I am planning on taking the GMAT exam in a few months and i would like to know which book to purchase.
This is my first time taking the GMAT exam and despite knowing in general what it's about i have never taken a sample exam or looked at one before.
I saw a study plan on this forum with book recommendations but it was posted more than 8 years ago.
I am having a hard time deciding which book is better for me is it the Kaplan or the OG?

P.S: I would like to mention that the most important score for me is the Quantitative section score although a high verall score wouldn't be bad at all :)

I wouldn't waste my money on anything else, other than OG and MGMAT Guides. If possible, purchase OG 12, and the MGMAT OG Companion for OG12, in addition to OG 13 and the OG Quant and Verbal guides. Practice each and every OG question with MGMAT's explanations. Trust me, if you complete all the OG problems, you will score at least above 650. I think you can be assured of this with great certainty.

If you want something specific for quant check out Dabral's website GMATquantum absolutely fantastic video explanations. The free stuff include OG 10,11,12,13,QUANT REVIEW, PAPER TESTS etc Though I haven't done his online course, based on the amazing video explanations I'm sure the course should be fantastic ( if you want to try the trial course 10 dollars for 10 days ). Check them out.

I sense danger here. One is a guidebook, while the other is a collection of questions. Guidebooks and the OG are necessary. If one of these resources is neglected, then your test score will reflect such an incomplete preparation.

Your question, then, shouldn't be about whether to use Kaplan or the OG. It's whether to combine the OG with Kaplan, Manhattan, Veritas, Princeton Review, or whatever other guidebooks are available.
