Ding. Closure indeed. For a school trying to train the next generation of leaders, they need to improve their communication. Hey All, Just found out today that I got in!!! I am in a total state of shock. I completely wrote off business school this year and I still haven't processed that I actually got into school. Got the call around 4PM CT. Good luck to those of you still on the waiting list - I guess anything can happen

I just declined my spot on the Summer Waitlist. Kellogg's a great school but was my fifth choice even before being waitlisted. I would have loved closure and the ability to weigh my options, but at this point there is no way I'm going to cancel plans at Darden (and cough up a substantial scholarship money) if Kellogg comes to me late with an offer. Hopefully someone who really wants Kellogg moves up a spot.

Seems like Booth has stronger recruiting into finance careers, not that Darden is bad by any means.

I saw at least 1 person get into HBS off the HBS WL who was also admitted to Kellogg. They indicated they would be accepting HBS. That would open up at least 1 seat on the summer waitlist assuming Kellogg replaces every lost admit. I would bet that there will be at least a few H/S/W WL'ers get in who are also admitted to Kellogg. If last year's forum is any indicator at all, there were a decent share of GClub members admitted off the summer WL. On the flip side, an "insider" mentioned on here that their yield was up this year, which would lower the amount of summer WL'ers accepted. As usual, I think it's going to just be a game of chance that will play out through mid-August. Best of luck to you and the rest of us still waiting.

Ha...I got a "ding" email from Kellogg this morning despite me removing myself from the waitlist nearly 2 weeks ago. I'm sure it's just a way of them formally removing me, but it's sort of like 1) Dating a girl who becomes disinterested in you but strings you alone 2) Becoming uninterested and deciding to break it off and dump her and 3) her deciding to break up with you 2 weeks later 4) Me thinking "wait we were still dating?"

Also - does anyone have any idea how many people are floating around on this summer waitlist? My WM has told me the list is small, but I don't really have any idea what type of number that mean - just curious.

I think it's a safe bet to assume at least some of us will hear from them in the next 2-3 weeks. I would be surprised if it was very shortly after the 4th, though. Previous years had a jump in activity around July 20th and then again towards August 10th. It makes sense considering how close that is to the start of classes and the likelihood most people have made up their minds on where they are going to attend.
