I got my off-campus interview invite today. Applied on 16th morning itself (Part1 + Part 2) and had selected option to be interviewed at off-campus. I was actually expecting a waiver since I had applied so late. Do you guys think its better to be interviewed than getting waived?

Manu - are you in india? Whats ur background like? Thanks

Applied the night before the Part I deadline. Got my interview invite (in D.C.) w/ an alumn on 10/23.

Problem is I'm traveling for work through 10/31 and then leaving again for Japan for work from 11/2 to 11/11 - deadline to get interview done is 11/13.

Just had my off-campus interview with an alumnus today. He was very friendly, and assured me at the start that there is no trick to this. He then said that the interview is just a part of the application, and its purpose is for Kellogg to get to know the applicant a bit better. The standard questions were asked:
Why MBA? Why Kellogg? How would you like to get involved at Kellogg?

Neither the 'biggest accomplishment' nor 'significant challenge' question was asked explicitly, but instead he asked me to tell him more about a particular experience that resulted in me winning an internal award at my firm.

We finished the interview in 30 minutes. I then asked a few questions, and at the end he advised me not to read too much into the timing of the notification since the Kellogg Admissions Office may notify applicants who've been interviewed any time between the interview and the notification due date.

Really? I thought Kellogg notified applicants a week before the notification due date at the earliest?

Had my interview earlier this week. It was with an alumni and it was pretty chilled out and conversational.
Why MBA? Why Kellogg? I started explaining and there were many other questions attached (i.e., specific questions about things I said, focusing on team work and also individual thinking) and the interview was pretty laid back.
I also got an opportunity to ask the alumni some questions.

I was a bit surprised by that as well - I asked him to clarify since I had heard that the notification is usually close to the due date. But he confirmed that it can be between now and the due date.

Maybe the current students who help out with on-campus interviews can clarify?

A student affiliated with admissions told me if you don't hear a week or two before the final deadline then your chances are not good... but I'm not sure how reliable/true that really is... can anyone confirm?

I received my interview notice on 3 Oct & I just did my interview yesterday (23 Oct - just within deadline). I'm located in Singapore, so it was off-campus with an alumni.
She was really nice & it was very casual at a Starbucks. No difficult questions, everything was as other people have reported. Lots of emphasis on leadership & teamwork. I also felt she was particularly curious about my weakness/failures and my personal interests, maybe to get a rounded view.

All that's left for me now is waiting for the decision!

I received an off-campus interview assignment on 10/23, asked for a good time and am waiting to hear back from the alumni. When you meet in coffee shops for interviews do you still wear business professional? Seems weird but then again I wouldn't leave anything to chance!

I'd say still go business professional. It's always better to be slightly over dressed than under. I went business professional for my alumni interview at a Starbucks and was glad I did so.

As for the interview itself, it was very conversational, no unexpected questions, very laid back. They're trying to get to know you, not grill you. Relax, smile, and be friendly!

My interviewer also said that I could hear anytime between now and the deadline, also that not hearing until close to the deadline isn't a bad sign.

This may be irrelevant based on new info that people have heard but thought I'd share - I visited Kellogg in Sept and at the info session the admissions officer said she wasn't sure what they would do this year. in the previous years decisions went out during a two week period prior to the official decision date. She said they had talked about holding off until "game day" just to prevent the speculation and all the anxiety it causes for applicants, but they hadn't decided yet (she mentioned that they have seen stuff on these sites about people trying to figure out whether they go by industry or alphabetical order or whatever ) . Not sure if this helps anything or if they have already given more concrete info.

Waiting on my interviewer to get back to me...So excited about Kellogg it's by farrrr my top choice!

If our interview hasnt written back after a week should we call them? Whats the etiquette? I think contacting the Admissions department about a no-response might lead to a waiver.

I'm in the same boat as you...not sure what to do. Will be a week tomorrow. This may sound silly, but I also don't want to contact Kellogg and have them get on my interviewer's case and then they've got that in the back of their head before meeting me.

Im thinking about giving him a call at the one-week mark. If I were an interviewer I dont think I would mind someone checking in to see if I got the email, etc.

Yeah I don't think so at all - you should definitely call. I already called and left a voicemail and emailed w no response.

Today will mark a week since I got my invite so I plan to call again and then email Kellogg tonight if no answer

A question for those who've had their interviews: Does the Check Application Status site indicate that the interview has been completed?

I have had the off-campus interview with an alumn within the 21-days limit recently, and I am wondering whether he has submitted his report or not.

The Check Application Status site only shows one link - View Interview Match Letter.

Does anyone know if it is possible to confirm all that all of the application components were received and all requirements satisfied?

Specifically, I am a re-applicant, so according to Kellogg's instructions, I am only required to provide one recommendation letter. However, on the online application, I am still able to add a second recommender. Any way to confirm this is ok? My worst fear is my app gets pushed to the next round because of that extra missing rec (which I am not supposed to need)..

Did you get a confirmation on this yet?

Could any other re-applicant please shed some light on this?
