What about international applicants? Theres a 13 hour time difference. I dont suppose they'd call me at 3AM in the morning their time or mine? I suppose they'd send a congratulatory email instead?

Would you really be that upset if they called you at 3am to congratulate you?

Oh I most certainly wouldnt. But they are businessmen first. If I were in the AdCom, I would have rules about calling people at the right time. So its not I that is against 3AM calls, its probably them. I wonder...

But even if they aren't officially releasing anything on the website until Monday, does that mean they won't be making calls this week?

I guess we'll find out! At the very least I'll be checking back here a lot to see if anyone's heard anything else.

Last year only US candidates received a call ... international candidates received admit emails in batches ... so prepare for frayed nerves if your name is in the last batch that goes out!

Another question; if we don't get a call by Friday does that mean we got waitlisted or dinged?

As of now, it doesn't appear anyone has gotten any calls at all. If that remains by Friday, then no, that's not what it means, unless the applicant pool was extraordinarily weak

Whatever the decision you will be updated as such ... waitlisted and dinged candidates also receive emails from the adcom, though a little later at times ... so dont worry you wont be left hanging

I like how for the past several days, it has consistently gotten ghostly quiet at around 12:30PST/3:30EST. As if the whole thread is holding its breath. Good luck all, what happens happens...we'll be okay.

I think it depended on the international candidate's time zone. There were some who did get calls and others who got the congratulatory email. However, that was last year and it's pretty obvious at this point that decisions are being released much differently this year. Remember how all of us last fall were trying to figure out when notifications would start based on the Fall 2010 thread. Hahaha. That year decisions started going out 2 weeks before the decision day. Last year that pushed back to 1 week before the decision day. This year it looks like the decision day is the day. So much for the predictive powers of the prior year threads.
