Lets post our decisions here!

A Kellogg AdComm member posted this on the BusinessWeek forums:

Quote:
Hi,

Just a quick update to my previous response regarding decisions--we will begin releasing Round 1 decisions this Friday, December 1st. You will receive an email prompting you to check your online status once we have posted your decision. Decisions will be released in random order, on a rolling basis, up through January 8th. All decisions will be reflected online; however, we may also contact admitted candidates via phone or email.

Best Regards,
Kristen

Best of luck to everyone!

Everyone needs to stop posting here! I keep anticipating someone will post a "I got in".

If I recall, last year they only did something like a dozen offers before the date, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

I was looking at the new post to see if someone had gotten in, and it was just you posting to tell people not to post because it would make people think someone got in

OK!

Sorry, I just had to! You won't hear from me again in this thread until I know something.

I think they wont be releasing till next week. If you look at admissions411, it looks like the official date last year was Jan 15, 2006. The average days early people heard back was 16.4 - but with some as early as 34 days before. With that in mind, and with this years dates in mind - Jan 7, the earliest one could hear back would be 12/4, which is Monday. The average expected hear back date would thus be 12/22 - the friday before christmas.

Of the 72 notification dates posted that seem right (ignoring ones that have like a june date but were not waitlisted for example), the breakdown is as follows:

Days
Before # Percentage Corresponding date this year
0 13 18% 1/7/2007
1 3 4% 1/6/2007
2 9 13% 1/5/2007
3 5 7% 1/4/2007
5 2 3% 1/2/2007
6 3 4% 1/1/2007
9 3 4% 12/29/2006
10 4 6% 12/28/2006
11 3 4% 12/27/2006
12 1 1% 12/26/2006
14 1 1% 12/24/2006
23 1 1% 12/15/2006
25 1 1% 12/13/2006
27 1 1% 12/11/2006
28 2 3% 12/10/2006
30 7 10% 12/8/2006
31 7 10% 12/7/2006
32 4 6% 12/6/2006
33 1 1% 12/5/2006
34 1 1% 12/4/2006

Some of the corresponding dates this year shift to weekends - but its still interesting. I wonder whats up with that gap from 12/15 to 12/24.

The interesting thing is that almost 20% of those that reported dates heard back 30 days before.

Note also that the majority of 0's are waitlists.

Ok, I promised I wouldn't post here until I knew my decision, but I lied.

Anyways, someone got admitted, check Admissions411.com. This guy also posted in the BW forums:

Quote:

They have started releasing decisions. I just got a call from adcom that I got into the 2Y program. Can't stop grinning. Good luck to everyone - maybe we will meet next fall!

I finished my interview on Oct 9th - well before the R1 deadline (and before I submitted my app). Good luck!

Kellogg has the most unreliable website! Most of the the time it throws a Server Exception (HTTP 500). Disappointing! How do they expect people to reliably apply or check status?

Everytime you post in this thread I think you just got accepted, please be mindful of that fact.

I also strongly recommend that you take Pelihu's advice!
