Kenan-Flagler vs Simon Rochester in career placement [#permalink]
02 May 2006, 07:44
Dear Hjort and gmatclub members
I'm an internation student and going to attend Kenan or Simon. I will take a loan to attend these schools so I first priority is how to repay the money. Which school will have better career prospect and placement in finance for an international student?
Thank you for reading the message.

Would you plan to work in the US or elsewhere?

Sorry for the late repley. I thought nobody pay attention to the topic. Yes, Hjort. I plan to work in the US latter, especially in the financial service sector. Thank you again for answering my question.

I saw your message shortly after you put it up but I waited in case others wanted to give their views. Anyways, this is not an easy call- UNC has a stronger overall reputation (Transelite cluster vs. Rochester in the Near Elite cluster) and generally has better overall employment stat.s. On the other hand, Rochester has a very strong reputation in finance, probably stronger than any other school outside the elite and ultra elite clusters. Further, Rochester places far more students in the key financial market, the northeast of the US, in terms of both percentage of studens and count of students.

Thank Hjort!
I have decided that I will go to Simon in the next coming semester. Hopefully better education quality in my chosen field plus my efforts will pay back properly in the near future. Thank you for your valuable comments.
