Wish they standardized the chargers for all mobile devices...greedy mfrs!

Have you looked at something like the iGo? (https://www.igo.com) They're kind of expensive, but save you from carrying multiple cords - instead you carry a small pouch of interchangeable tips for the iGo power adapter to power laptop, iPod, phone, camera, etc.

I don't use it for day-to-day stuff, but when I travel I bring that instead of the other power adapters and like the convenience of it.

Right now I just have a laptop and a phone that can be charged through USB. But the point is that companies like Apple, Sony, Nokia etc. make so much in accessories that they will never standardize them. It's just more electronic waste and cost to us.

Btw, this is a preview from the device release today:

$489
Needs to be subsidized to sell.

Re: Kindle in B-school [#permalink]
I own the iRex Iliad reader : https://www.irextechnologies.com/products/iliad. This product does everything that kindle 2 does - (annotations, pdf reader, etc. etc.). Generally I like this product, but its so freaking expensive that I'd be scared to take it along during my travels. One thing that still annoys me is the lack of colour in the e-ink technology. Until colour becomes standard, these ebook readers will not go mainstream. The other problem is that its difficult to find books that are optimally formatted for the screen. I read plenty of pdf books but I often find having to resize the page to keep the font size readable. I cannot imagine these to replace books and real slides / notes in b-school anytime soon. Although, I might be able to take notes etc. on it.

I have 1st generation Kindle and there is no way i can use Kindle for textbook.
It's tough flipping multiple pages, graphics are horrible, and impossible to highlight or write down notes.

Nink, the Kindle 1 does allow highlighting and note-taking -- I have one as well. Dunno whether you were just engaging in hyperbole because you don't like the way those features work, but the features are there. I highlight books all the time -- articles in the Journal and the New Yorker, too. And it syncs your notes and highlighted passages to your Amazon account, so you can't lose them.
