Knewton Quant Tests GMAT CLUB TEST [#permalink] New post 28 May 2012, 05:09
Hello,

I just took the Newton Quant test S95 and scored very bad saying:
Results > s95: you answered correctly 22 out of 39 questions; your percentile on test s95 is 10.2% (you did better than 10.2% of s95 test takers).

I am taking the GMAT test on coming thursday and aiming at 640.
GMPAT Prep 1: 590 (Q39, V31)
GMPAT Prep 2: 640 (Q44, V33)

So I just wanted to know the level of difficulty of these Knewton Sets Questions and wheter it is good practice for the score I target.

It's been a year since I used Knewton, but I remember thinking that the scoring algorithm on its tests was wrong. Several times, I would miss only 2-3 questions and get a lousy Q45. I e-mailed them about this, and they denied that it was flawed, but I never believed it.

I really think that Knewton is great, but I believe that its algorithm is slightly off. So don't get too obsessed with the score. You'll likely score higher on the real test than you do on the practice CATs.

I did not do any Knewton CATs but just a set a 39 Questions which I found ranged from medium to hard.

I do not actually care how they score their CATs but I was more concerned about their questions relevancy to the real test.

I thought that the questions were very similar to those found on the actual test.

I don't think the Knewton Quant Test in the GMAT Club Test is Computer Adaptative . So I wouldn't read too much into the results you get in them . A CAT Test is designed to push you to your limits and that is what makes it so much more harder .The most accurate indicator of your GMAT Score is the GMAT Prep Test . Use them very wisely and you can even retake them 2/3 times without seeing too many repeats .
