Hi all,
My name is Vinod, I am an Indian. I am working in an IT company as a consultant, I never took getting an admission into a foreign b-school seriously i was more focused upon getting an admission into IIMs (the holy grail for majority of Indians) but i was enlightened by my cousin, who gave me a glimpse of what an MBA outside India could do and i decided if i do an MBA it has to be from one of the top 10 schools and so began my journey to ace the GMAT (this being the first step). I wish good luck to all the other people who dream about the schools they want to be in. And now the journey begins

Hi All,

I just came across the name of this forum on one of the sites I was navigating through.

I am a BA(hons) in Russian Language, Literature and cultural studies from JNU, New Delhi. I served Indian Army as Lieut. for 2.5 years and resigned my commission in Dec 2006. Then I joined one of the Independent Software Testing Firm as Manual Test Engineer. Based on my initiative I was given the opportunity to try my hands in Automated Testing. Currently I am Senior Automation Test Engineer and serving Automation Center of Excellence in my firm.

I am thinking of GMAT since I left Army. I started my preparation since October last year. Finished with some three books. There is a long way to go. Now I have planned to continue the preparation GMAT way. Thinking for reaching mid 700's.

Hi guys,

First post here, so I’d like to introduce myself to the community. I’m an Italian 28yo male, graduated in social sciences, with 4 years of professional experience across a number of roles in the marketing environment. I’m interested in getting an MBA to complete my education with solid business foundations, which, I hope, will be of benefit for my career in the future. My plan is to apply this year for the class entering in September 2010 (class of 2012).

I first started preparing for the GMAT last October, when I took a ManhattanGMAT free CAT test (without any previous study). I scored 560, I panicked, and immediately signed up for one of their online courses. The course ended yesterday, and I must say that it has been a really positive experience. I’m now scoring 680 (always in MGMAT test), and looking forward to take my first GMATPrep.

However, I have my exam scheduled for mid-April. My target is to hit the 700 barrier, possibly with a balanced score between quant and verbal (let’s say, both above 40). Do you guys think that I should make use of the GMATClub tests in this period, or should I focus on the GMATPrep only?

Suggestions and comments are welcome!!

Hi all,

Let me introduce myself- My name is Devindra Sharma & I am working with 3M India Limited, in sales (B2B, Industrial). I carry a mechanical engg degree from Pune & experience of more than 6 years in Sales. Now with an objective of shifting myself to Marketing & Strategies, I would like to give GMAT in May 2009.

I have started my studies with basic grammer from Kaplan & Manhattan & then practice quetions on SC/CR/RC from OG & 1000 questns & not yet geared up for Maths. I have just started so I really can't which would be my strong area, but looking into the questions, I think CR is one thing where I am decent at.

So thats it, guys plz help me out as how I can be more specific to the Test & how I can plan my time ( as I find much lesser time because of work pressure in sales)

Hi folks

This is Xumit and I'm here to introduce myself so that we all have smooth ride with each other for next couple of months (years!). I'm a 30 year old Marine Engineer and want to start preparing myself for a career-change. And that means start getting serious about GMAT.

I'm initially aiming for 700 but pretty sure that I can extract better outta me. GmatClub.com is going to be a fantastic platform.

Ciao

Hello,

I am currently studying to take the GMAT for a second time. I took it about a month ago with only 2 months of study and did horribly!! I was high 300s. I was soo embarrassed and discouraged. I always made great grades in school so I was really crushed when I received that score. I have become more of a forum person and discovered this forum on my own. I am currently working on a study plan and am willing to take any advice out there. I have recently purchased many mgmat books to help prep this time. My biggest weakness is in verbal...I AM HORRIBLE!!! My math is stronger however it needs much improvement. I am currently looking at Texas and Rice MBA programs. I do work in finance which helps but it is CDO Finance (which is slowly dying a painful death) I look forward to getting to know people on this forum and hearing any advice!!!
Thanks

Hi guys,

I found Gmatclub through a guy who approached me studying for the GMAT at Starbucks. Luckily that guy was Comebackkid, who is the 39 yr. old poster who scored a 770 here. I'm just at the very early stages of studying for my GMAT and am looking to take the test in August.

I got Princeton Review Online to start with, but unfortunately everybody is telling me I wasted my money. Either way, I'll be giving that a shot along with the MGMAT, OG, GMAT Focus, GMATprep, and a few LSAT books for further CR & RC stuff.

Looking forward to meeting everybody here--looks like a great community

hi everyone,

I came across this site after writing my gmat the first time. I got a 670 the first time round, and am rewriting at the end of this month. Hopefully it'll go 700+ well come D day.

thanks for this great site. It keeps me sane knowing there are others out there going through the same experience. goodluck to all future gmat writers and rewriters!

Hello everyone!

I graduated from college around 5 years ago and plan to apply to an MBA program starting in the fall of 2010. I want to take my GMAT by late August or early September and am aiming for something close to a 750. My target schools include Chicago Booth, Stanford GSB, Sloan and Tuck.

I find the GMAT Club forum an excellent resource for not just GMAT prep but also MBA apps. I look forward to being a regular visitor to the forum in the coming months!

Graduated with a Kinesiology degree in the Spring, and now I want to start preparing for the GMAT and a B-School. Considering trying to find a job or internship that can be better applied to my application. Also have a few entrepreneur ventures I am working on currently.

Thinking of applying for the Fall of 2011, so I have some time to prepare, although I am a complete 'noob' when it comes to studying for the GMAT, so I'm here to soak in everything I can.
